This month’s call continues the topic of “barriers to the deployment of community-based microgrids”. It builds off last month’s call which focused on specific technical obstacles faced by disadvantaged and vulnerable communities in their work towards energy resilience and microgrid development.
Jina Kim, from Communities for a Better Environment, will report on ways to address the procedural obstacles implicit in grants for microgrid support. The recommendations were developed by the Microgrid Equity Coalition, of which the Alliance has been an active member (see our position paper on Community-Driven Energy Resilience). This call will revolve around the Microgrid Equity Coalition’s recent publication, Energy Resilience and Microgrid Development in Disadvantaged and Vulnerable Communities, and what can be done to overcome these obstacles to community-based energy development.
Statewide calls are for Alliance members only. To participate, please complete our application to join.
