This month’s call explored the topic of the Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs) newest attempt to kill rooftop solar. The fixed utility fee proposal, currently before the CPUC, will harm all ratepayers and eliminate the possibility of community resilient energy in California. This call featured Dave Rosenfeld, tireless defender of roof-top solar and local clean energy, executive director of the Solar Rights Alliance.
The proposed fees would set income-based fixed charges on all ratepayers’ bills, even if they get no energy from the IOUs! It represents one more step in the attempt to guarantee a centralized energy model. It also represents one more attack on rooftop solar.
