Nov 18, 2020, Partner Event – Demand Response by the SD Energy District’s Energy Futures Academy

The recent rotating outages in California were not caused by renewables according to a formal letter to the California Governor from all three major energy agencies in the state. Like many regimes, resources that could have injected power or reduced demand were not available to the System Operator. Why? In this webinar, experts from the US and the EU will examine the opportunities and obstacles for Demand Response to mitigate blackouts; improve grid flexibility; and, compensate owners of generators, thermostats, EVs, and other dispatchable resources. Join us to discuss the solutions and gaps to be filled by Demand Response.
