To realize the robust, decentralized electricity system of the future, microgrids are central. Yet everywhere Californians have tried to build community microgrids — those serving more than a single customer or meter — these projects have run into barrier after barrier.
This month we hear from Allie Detrio, Chief Strategist for Reimagine Power. In this zoom call, she will preview a soon-to-be released report on the experiences of community microgrids across the state.
She will describe the challenges and barriers these projects confronted, and what was done to address them. The report also explores what needs to be done to remove these impediments, to enable widespread development of community microgrids.
