A Municipal Utility for San Diego?? It’s Gearing Up NOW..

In 2023, San Diego Gas & Electric made a profit of $936 million.  Given rate cases already pending, not to mention the egregious “Utility Tax” that will add another $30-70/ month to every single ratepayer bill, is it any wonder that citizens in the City of San Diego want to form a municipal utility within the city limits.

Join Bill Powers, long-time expert in SDG&E tricks, and chair of “Power San Diego”, as he updates the Alliance on this active campaign, well-underway.  How, exactly, can San Diego citizens afford to pay SDG&E for all those poles and wires?  How does the proposed ballot measure avoid the pitfalls of political appointments seen in other munis like LADWP, for example?

Come hear answers to these and other questions, as we explore both what’s possible in San Diego and the implications of the “Power San Diego” campaign for other cities across the state.

Please note:  CACE will not host a separate discussion call on this topic. Please review any of the resources below and bring all your questions to this presentation.
